Repurposing an existing building is the ultimate in sustainable design. Originally built as a wool storage warehouse nearly 130 years ago, the New Loom House was transformed into DIRTT’s 1,700 square foot bold, new London Green Learning Centre (GLC) in just 12 days. The heritage building space illustrates how DIRTT is equally at home in traditional architecture or a contemporary building.
Wander through the latest engaging and innovative residential, healthcare, education and commercial spaces – personalized, prefabricated for rapid installation, and fully customized (without the traditional markup associated with customization). This is not a showroom of off-the-shelf products, but an imagination station that gives you a taste of what’s possible for your own custom space.
The London GLC integrates accessibility options such as a disability-adaptable washroom and aging in place options. It showcases the beauty and functionality of imbedded technology and durable finishes. Cutaway displays reveal the simplicity and adaptability of imbedded, modular DIRTT Power and Networks; or visitors can explore the aesthetic, branding and way-finding opportunities presented by Corning® Willow® Glass.
Visiting the GLC helps you see “this is how we should be building,” to quote one recent visitor. If you’re local to London or travelling there soon, we welcome to you visit our Green Learning Centre.
